At our 2020 meeting (28th April) we would like to raise awareness of the environmental impact of healthcare and sustainability in anaesthesia and would like you, our colleagues from Scotland and beyond, to present your own efforts in reducing the carbon footprint in your workplace.
We envisage this session as short (strictly 5 minute only!) slots for each speaker so we can allow as many innovations to be shared as possible in the time allocated.
We would like to invite anyone interested in presenting their efforts/achievements in reducing their carbon footprint to submit their work in a short (200 words) paragraph to us by email (nealwillis@nhs.net) before the 29th February 2020. There may not be enough time to allow all submissions to be presented, in this instance the committee will decide on who is invited to present and you will be contacted ASAP after the submission date. Please note this does not have to be specific to PAEDIATRIC theatres, we are looking for ideas and achievements from all! Theatre-specific would be of the most use to most of us, but there is still something to learn from taking the message out to the wards/canteens/shops.
This exercise is intended to showcase your efforts but also to share ideas with colleagues so we can all take something back to our own work that may be of use. There is no prize associated with this session, except the warm glow you’ll get from presenting in front of us. That is truly reward enough!
